Names4things is very ambivalent about Black History Month. It annoys her that there must be one. Why the exclusion? Why can’t American history be about all Americans?
N4t just doesn’t get it. Because if you read the prison statistics that were just released from the Pew Center that say more than one in 100 (or 1%) of America is in prison, it is an American fact that is inclusive of all Americans. See? It lumps them all together. Fun fact: Americans imprison more people per capita than anyone in the whole wide world!
If we look closer, it includes the incredibly downtrodden white women, who are imprisoned at the rate of 1 in 355. Huh? Wait a minute. That would be 0.28%.
Heyyyy. Wait a minute! Where’s the outcry? Where’s Gloria Steinem, Erica Jong, and Gail Collins? I mean, we have white women murderers, drug addicts, thieves and child molesters just like everyone else, right? I bet we’ll be hearing from those Big Names about being treated unfairly in one hot minute. You just wait (but don’t hold your breath).
Okay, let’s look at black men. They have it so good, right Barack Hussein Obama? One of every nine black men between the ages of 20 and 34 is behind bars.
Oh man. That’s 11.11% [gulp].
Enough of that. Let’s try black women in the same age group sampling of white women, which was 35-39. Their powerball number is one in 100.
Really? Oh. Well, maybe black women, who are also always crying about being excluded, were what the whole study was about, right?
Well, of course not. Names4things is not only numerate, as she demonstrated with her percentage calculatingor; she is aware that what we need even more than Black History Month, is integration. I know, I know. People keep talking about sentencing disparities, police abuse, malicious and selective prosecutions, non-violent offenders, and yeah– that’s a very large part of the solution as well.
But we need more whites going to prison! I’m tired of reading about the mercy of the courts when it comes to white offenders. When unpoor white men catch a case, their assholes are often given more consideration than their crimes. You know, because anal raping is an accepted part of your prison sentence here in this great unflawed country of ours. That’s wrong. George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and all those other murderers and thieves, should be jailed right alongside their poorer darker brethren. That means in the same prisons, not the country club alternatives. People, we have got to start allowing whites to bring that great shit they allegedly bring by their mere proximity, to our World Champion prison systems. Can you imagine the changes? Drug treatment, education, rehabilitation… anal security. That’s all I’m saying.
Well, not quite. Black people? Stop being so very behind the abuse of criminals, while further victimizing their victims. No, I’m not back to the anal raping. We heard so much about the Jena 6, because their prosecutions were way too zealous. Juvenile court would have sufficed. But that the single white victim of the Jena 6 had the dogshit beaten out of him by, well, SIX other young men, should have been part of all of those conversations. The boy got knocked unconscious! But what got referenced was that he was seen socializing the night of the event.
And yes, the instigators of that whole shit, the thugs who menaced those innocent students with nooses should have been tossed in the lockup tout fuckin suite. But they weren’t even suspended from school. And that’s why N4t was not standing on her crate up on 125th Street, demanding no justice no peace. Because the Jena 6 were being treated unfairly, but so was the Jena 1 that got the hell beaten out of him. And from everything heard up off in here; he didn’t have anything to do with the nooses.
Can’t stop won’t stop, without mentioning that brutal gang rape in Dunbar Village
of a woman by 10 African American teens who in addition to repeatedly raping the woman ( FOR OVER THREE HOURS) while beating her 12 year old son made them lie naked in the bath tub together and forced the woman to perform oral sex on her own child before burning her skin and blinding her son by pouring cleaning solution on their skin and eyes.
The throngs that championed the Jena 6 were, um, busy when this horrifying shit was equally, if not more deserving of their attention. Read about it, while I do some cleansing breaths and get a little money on my ab cruncher.
Whew! OK. That is not all, but it’s probably not enough. Last words? Lauren Williams of Stereohyped did a terrific job of highlighting black Americans we rarely if ever get to hear about, for the entire month. Now that’s what we need e’ery time we talk, when we’re talking about American history. And the very last words? Stop saying the n-word. I don’t give a shit if you end it with an a, or an er, or have two c’s in the middle. Give. It. Up. Now.
